Lucknow : The Supreme Court on Friday (Mukhtar Ansari News) sought a response from the UP government on the petition of jailed MLA Abbas Ansari, in which he sought permission to attend the Fateha (special prayer) of his father Mukhtar Ansari on April 10. Has asked for. Gangster-turned-politician Mukhtar Ansari died of a heart attack in Banda jail in Uttar Pradesh on March 28. But Abbas Ansari could not attend the funeral.

Asked for permission to participate in Fateha
On Friday, Abbas Ansari’s lawyer told the bench of Justice Surya Kant and Justice Sandeep Mehta that Abbas Ansari’s petition to attend the last rites could not be listed in the court on time and the last rites have already been done. Now he should be allowed to amend the petition and attend the Fateha to be held on 10th April. He himself will file the amended petition today.

Could not attend the funeral
On this, the bench said that the lawyer of the petitioner Abbas Ansari had initially said that the last rites should be held first and the petitioner wants to amend the writ petition so that he can attend the ‘Fateha’ to be held on April 10. Issue a notice on this and seek reply by April 9. The court said that the petitioner should provide a copy of the amended petition to the lawyer appearing for the Uttar Pradesh government. The bench said that the case will be heard on April 9.

Abbas Ansari is lodged in Kasganj jail.
It is noteworthy that Abbas Ansari, lodged in Kasganj jail, had filed a petition in the High Court seeking permission to participate in the funeral of his father Mukhtar Ansari. But this could not be heard in the High Court. After this, Abbas’s lawyers went to the Supreme Court. But Abbas did not get relief from there also.
