Lucknow: Investigation has started into the reasons for the death of Mukhtar Ansari, lodged in Banda jail (Mukhtar Ansari News). On the orders of DG Jail, the Senior Jail Superintendent recorded the statements of the doctors who treated Mukhtar. These doctors had treated Mukhtar Ansari in Banda Jail on 28 March. One of them was Dr. Aditi Srivastava (surgeon), Dr. Hridesh Patel physician and Dr. Shishir. All three reached the jail and recorded their statements before the Senior Jail Superintendent.
Arrived for questioning at 11 o’clock
It is being told that all the doctors had reached Banda Jail at around 11 o’clock and came out at around 3 o’clock. It is being told that Dr. Aditi was called on the night of 25th March due to the deteriorating health of Mukhtar. After investigation, he referred him to the Medical College (Banda Medical College). On examination the next day, Mukhtar was found to be suffering from stomach pain, swelling and gas. On the afternoon of March 28, when Mukhtar’s health deteriorated again, Dr. Aditi went to jail again. There he was found to be in normal health at 3.15. At 5.40 in the evening, they again got information about Mukhtar’s health deteriorating. On reaching jail, after investigation, he was referred to the medical college. According to Dr. Shishir, Mukhtar’s pulse and sugar were uncontrolled. That is why he was sent to medical college.
Advice to see a heart specialist
According to Dr. Hridesh Patel, he got information about Mukhtar’s ill health at 2 pm on March 28. On reaching the jail they saw that he was on a wheel chair. Due to BP not getting better, a heart specialist was advised to get tested. In the evening, when information was received that he was feeling unwell again, he reached the jail and got checked. There it was found that Mukhtar’s condition was serious. Therefore, he advised to send him to medical college and went back.
