Bareilly : Varun Gandhi, BJP MP from Pilibhit Lok Sabha seat of Uttar Pradesh, addressed a public meeting on Sunday. Said, in the fight for independence, our elders had sold their land and fought with the British. So that Indians do not have to bow down before anyone. We have to bow down before the officer. Said, we have become free from the chains of the British, but we are bound by the chains of slavery of our own people.
Giving benefits of government schemes is not a favor
BJP MP Varun Gandhi said that I have taken your vote for the election, so I will speak to you. I did not go to any Tata, Birla’s place to ask for votes. The most unfortunate thing is that our leaders Votes are taken from the poor, and talk about the rich and industrialists. I never back down from speaking the truth. The MP said that government schemes are run only with the tax you give. If you are getting the benefits of government schemes, then it is not a favor to anyone. Rather, it is your right. There was monarchy in our country. There were kings, the British came, the Mughals came. We have developed the habit of thinking that whoever has come is our giver and we are the takers, but it is not so. You have formed the government of the country. In such a situation, you are not the servant of the country, but the owner of the country. Politics is just a way of service. It is not right to associate your respect with it.
