Ranchi: MP Sanjay Seth held a press conference at the MP’s office on Sunday and said that there is an outcry in Jharkhand including the capital Ranchi without electricity and water. The public is doing trahi-trahi, but this government is sleeping. It seems as if this government has nothing to do with public concern. The government which does not care about the public interest should have no right to remain in power. From the month of February itself, power outages have started in Ranchi. Complaints of transformer burning started coming. Along with this the water crisis also started, but this government has nothing to do with all this.

Mr. Seth said that children, elderly, patients and farmers i.e. every section are troubled due to power cut in this scorching heat. Small scale industries are on the verge of closure. Due to lack of power supply, the farmers of the village are not able to water their fields, due to which the crops are getting damaged. Small businessmen are troubled by the shortage of electricity. There is an outcry for water. People are awake whole night to fill water. Municipal Corporation is a complete failure. People are even fighting among themselves because of water. 60% of Ranchi’s chapakals have failed. Boring has failed. The Chief Minister, ministers and officers are all engrossed in their bungalows and the people here are suffering without electricity and water.

Dozens of calls are coming every day from Ichagarh to Silli, Kanke, Khijri, Hatiya, Khalari, somewhere there is power crisis, somewhere there is water crisis, somewhere handpumps are lying damaged, somewhere water tower is ready, but there is no water supply. Has been This is the condition of rural areas. Leaving aside the rural areas, the situation in the cities is even worse. The city is getting electricity only for 8 to 9 hours. The situation is more or less the same in rural areas as well. Drinking water pipe breaks somewhere, the government is not able to repair it immediately, as a result lakhs of gallons of water are being wasted.

Government of India gave crores of rupees to this state under Jal Jeevan Mission. It is unfortunate that even in the capital, that plan has not been fully implemented on the ground. The government should ensure the arrangement of water and electricity, so that the public can get some relief in this scorching heat. If the government does not find a solution to the electricity and water crisis without delay, then the people of Ranchi Lok Sabha constituency will be forced to do vigorous agitation. Outgoing councilors Arun Jha, Sunil Yadav and Arjun Ram were present on the occasion.
