MP Elections 2023: Entry of ‘Ganga Jal’ in Madhya Pradesh elections! BJP’s tension may increase

MP Elections 2023: Only a few months are left for the assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh. Here BJP and Congress have geared up. Statements are being made continuously from both the parties. In the meantime. Of. Mishra (Chairman, Media Department, Madhya Pradesh Congress Committee) has said that bottles of Ganga water will be given to every house to remind them of the 11 promises made by Kamal Nath ji. It will start in 1-2 days. This is a very good initiative because the promises of Kamal Nath ji have the same purity as the purity of Ganga water.

Here, BJP State President of Madhya Pradesh V.D. Sharma has said that you have committed so much sin that people have so much distrust against you that now you have to take Ganga water. I want to tell Mr. Karpshannath (Kalamnath) and Mr. Bantadhar (Digvijay Singh) that first wash the sins you have committed… Only if you take bath in Ganga for 50 years, your sins will not be washed away…

According to the plan made by Congress before the elections, the party will distribute Ganga water bottles in 10 thousand houses. It will start from Indore, then gradually Ganga water will be distributed in the entire state by Congress. Along with the bottles of Ganga water, Congress will also distribute pamphlets containing 11 guarantees of former CM Kamal Nath. According to the news coming out, the distribution of Ganga water is currently going to start from Indore. Himanshu Yadav, head of the party’s OBC cell in Indore Lok Sabha constituency, will take charge of the Congress in the area. Under his leadership, Ganga water will be distributed in five assembly constituencies here.

What are the promises of Congress?

Along with Ganga water, Congress will also be seen distributing pamphlets written on 11 promises made by former CM Kamal Nath to the people of the state. These 11 promises include Rs 1500 per month to women, gas cylinder for Rs 500, 100 units electricity bill waiver, half electricity bill up to 200 units as well as loan waiver of farmers, implementation of old pension scheme, 5 horse power irrigation electricity. These include free, waiving electricity bills of farmers, giving 27 percent reservation to OBCs, providing electricity for 12 hours of irrigation, conducting caste census and withdrawing the cases of farmers.

‘Politics of travel’

Before the elections, the ruling BJP and the opposition Congress are currently engaged in ‘travel politics’. Both the parties are vigorously raising their important issues with promises and policies and taking out tours to reach out to voters ahead of the assembly elections to be held at the end of the year. Senior leaders of both the national parties are roaming across the state with their message to the voters and election agenda. During its pre-poll “Jan Aakrosh Yatras” in Madhya Pradesh, Congress has raised issues like corruption, unemployment, atrocities on Dalits and rising inflation, while BJP in its “Jan Ashirwad Yatras” has raised issues like Sanatan Dharma controversy, development and The opposition has been targeted on issues like appeasement politics. Both the parties are claiming to get ‘huge’ support from the public for their pre-poll tours.

A look at the 2018 assembly elections

It is noteworthy that no party got a clear majority in the 2018 assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh. Congress won 114 seats and formed a coalition government under the leadership of Kamal Nath with the support of SP, BSP and independent MLAs. However, in March 2020, the Kamal Nath government fell due to the rebellion of his supporting MLAs from the Congress under the leadership of Jyotiraditya Scindia. After this, BJP government was once again formed in the state under the leadership of Shivraj Singh Chauhan.
