India alliance had announced a joint rally in Bhopal in the first week of October

AAP and Congress, two key members of the opposition alliance ‘India’, have not yet decided whether they will contest the Madhya Pradesh elections as alliance partners or not. After a meeting in Delhi last month, the India alliance had announced a joint rally in Bhopal in the first week of October, but MP Congress chief Kamal Nath later said it had been cancelled. In the last assembly elections held in 2018, Congress had won 114 seats in the 230-member assembly and formed a coalition government. BJP had won 109 seats. The Kamal Nath-led Congress government fell in March 2020, after which the BJP returned to power and Shivraj Singh Chouhan became the Chief Minister for the fourth time.
