Know the history of Dimani seat

If we look at the history of Dimani assembly seat of Morena district, BJP dominated this seat from 1980 to 2008…but in the last two elections, BJP had to face defeat at the hands of Congress, especially in the by-elections…in the year 2018. Girraj Dandotiya of Congress had won from this seat. In the 2013 elections, BSP’s Balveer Singh Dandotia had won the election. To make a comeback in its stronghold, BJP has placed a bet on a veteran leader like Narendra Singh Tomar.

Congress eyes a hat-trick on Dimani assembly seat

If we look at the 2018 assembly elections and then the by-elections held in 2020, Congress won the Dimani assembly seat. In the year 2018, Congress’s Scindia supporter Girraj Dandotia defeated BJP candidate Shiv Mangal Singh Tomar from here. When Scindia left Congress and joined BJP, Dandotia also changed sides. BJP fielded Dandotiya for the by-elections held in the year 2020. In front of him, Congress fielded Ravindra Singh Tomar who won from here.

Number of voters in Dimani Assembly: There are total 201517 voters in Dimani. Of these, 112279 are male voters while 89234 are female voters in this area. There are other 4 voters.

In Dimani Assembly, maximum 65000 votes are from Tomar (Thakur) community. After this there are 48000 voters from Scheduled Caste category. Also, voters of OBC category (Kushwah, Gurjar, Yadav, Baghel and Lodhi) play an important role in this area.
