MP Election 2023: Clash broke out in Dimani constituency, police termed the news of firing as false.

MP Election 2023: Voting is going on on 230 seats of Madhya Pradesh. Meanwhile, there is news that two people were injured in a clash that took place during voting on Friday in Dimani constituency of the state. Union Minister Narendra Singh Tomar is contesting elections from here. An officer gave this information. He told that the situation is under control. Morena Superintendent of Police (SP) Shailendra Singh said that information was received about a clash between two groups from Mirdhan village over attempts to stop voters from voting.

The SP said that some channels ran false news and claimed that there was firing in the village and someone was shot. He said that the news of firing is false and additional policemen have been deployed in the area. Sticks and batons were used in the fight and two people named Ajay Sharma and Rampratap Sharma were injured in the incident. Meanwhile, the Election Commission said that till 9 am, about 12 percent votes were cast in 230 seats of Madhya Pradesh. State Chief Electoral Officer Anupam Rajan said that peaceful voting is going on in all the constituencies. He said that during the voting exercise, electronic voting machines were replaced at some places, while technical glitches were rectified at some other booths.

State Chief Electoral Officer Anupam Rajan said that voting was going on smoothly at all places and till 9 am, 11.95 percent voting was recorded in the state. He said that among those who voted, 12.1 percent were men, while 11.89 percent were women. He told that till 9 am the highest voting was recorded in Rajgarh district at 16.49 percent and the lowest was recorded in Indore district at 6.21 percent.
