MoU, marketing office opened in Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh to promote tourism and culture

Lucknow: UP (Uttar Pradesh) and Madhya Pradesh (MP) will promote each other’s tourism and culture. A Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) has been signed between the states of Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh to promote cultural exchange and culture promotion. On this occasion, a marketing office of Madhya Pradesh Tourism (MP Tourism) was started at Hotel Gomti of UP Tourism Department.

MP Tourism Minister Usha Thakur was also present

Tourism Minister Usha Thakur was also present at the inauguration of the marketing office of Madhya Pradesh Tourism (MP Tourism). He said that a marketing office has been opened in Uttar Pradesh to promote the tourist places of Madhya Pradesh which are full of natural beauty. UP Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh said that the opening of the Madhya Pradesh Tourism office in the capital will further strengthen the relations between the two states.

Marketing office will also open in Varanasi and Ayodhya

Managing Director of Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation Mr. Kaushalendra Vikram Singh said that there is a plan to open marketing offices in Varanasi and Ayodhya in future. Residents of Uttar Pradesh will be told about the information and services of tourist places of the state through coffee table book, brochures, leaflets, Madhya Pradesh map etc. in the marketing office. Information about the achievements, innovations and activities of Tourism Corporation along with hotels, resorts, boat clubs will also be given. This will increase the number of tourists coming from Uttar Pradesh to Madhya Pradesh.

Will promote each other’s local culture

According to the MoU, a group of artists from Madhya Pradesh will give cultural performances on Uttar Pradesh Day on January 24 and Republic Day on January 26. On the foundation day of Madhya Pradesh, a group of artists from Uttar Pradesh will give cultural presentations in Madhya Pradesh. Both the states will jointly organize activities like art competition, exhibition, seminar, drama and theatre. In case of joint event, the host state will arrange local hospitality. And the visiting state will bear the expenses of the trips.

MoU signed for three years

The duration of the MoU is for 3 years. Which can be extended for 3 years with mutual consent. With such agreements, the citizen of the state will get an opportunity to understand, appreciate, enrich India’s diversity and know and understand Indian culture, customs and traditions. Both the states will prepare a book based on their rich culture, customs and traditions. Will display and distribute in educational institutions of each other’s state. Both the states will broadcast each other’s local TV and radio channels in their respective states.

Agreement signed in Raj Bhavan

The MoU was signed in the Gandhi Auditorium of Raj Bhavan in the presence of Uttar Pradesh Governor Anandiben Patel, UP Culture and Tourism Minister Jaiveer Singh, and Madhya Pradesh Culture, Tourism, Religious Trust and Endowment Minister Usha Thakur. Principal Secretary Culture and Tourism Shiv Shekhar Shukla and Principal Secretary Culture and Tourism Uttar Pradesh Mukesh Kumar Meshram signed. Kaushalendra Vikram Singh, Managing Director of Madhya Pradesh State Tourism Development Corporation and Ashwani Kumar Pandey, Managing Director of Uttar Pradesh Tourism Development Corporation were also present on this occasion.
