The center will be started under the pilot project in Patna, Gaya, Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur, Purnia, Bhojpur, Saran and Gopalganj. By December 2024, charging centers will be increased in the districts according to the number of vehicles.

Charging center will be built on or near the petrol pump

The department will seek applications from people to start a charging center in or around the petrol pump. Big and small vehicles can be charged every day at the charging centre. The area of ​​the center will be decided regarding this and applications will be sought from these districts this year. Charging area: Private and government buses, cars, bikes, all types of vehicles will be able to charge. For this, charging money will be taken on unit basis at the departmental level. This will also be started in private partnership, so that charging of electric vehicles can be facilitated.

In this regard, information regarding the routes has also been sought from these districts, so that buses can be operated on all those routes. The buses will be operated in PPP mode.

More than 1500 scooties, scooters and bikes in Patna every month

The number of electric vehicles is gradually increasing in Patna. After the subsidy policy introduced by the government to increase the number of electric vehicles, the number of electric vehicles on the roads has increased significantly. Among these, the number of two-wheeler electric scooties, scooters and bikes is high. Almost all big auto companies are introducing new electric scooters and bikes. These include old companies like Hero, TVS, Bajaj along with names like Ampere, new Ola. More than 1500 e-scooties, scooters and bikes are being sold every month in Patna. Among these, the largest number is held by branded companies.

If the state government had given subsidy, the sale of this scooter or bike would have been better.

And at present, considering the traffic and budget, more people prefer bikes or scooters for daily travel than cars. In such a situation, there is much less maintenance and cost as compared to electric scooters and petrol bikes. Jai Prakash of Pepco Sales Private Limited, the main distributor of Ampere, said that apart from eight companies, there are showrooms of e-scooters, scooties and bikes of thirty non-branded companies in the Patna market.

Had the government given subsidy, sales would have been better.

He told that once again the sale is increasing. Ampere company has maximum participation in this. Last month, Ampere sold 224 bikes. Deni TVS chief Amarjeet Singh said that due to reduced subsidy on electric bikes, sales are being affected. Earlier subsidy of Rs 51 thousand was available, which has now come down to Rs 28 thousand. In other states, the state government also gives subsidy, but Bihar government is not giving subsidy till now. If the state government had given subsidy then the sales of this scooter or bike would have been better.

How many e-vehicles were registered this year?

A total of 7171 different types of electric vehicles have been registered in the District Transport Office across the district from January to September. The maximum number of e-rickshaws in this is 4180. After this the number of e-scooty or e-motorcycle is 2379. The number of electric car is 285. The number of three wheeler electric vehicle is 308. Apart from this, one electric vehicle in adapted form and 4 e-scooties or e-motorcycles including side car have been registered. If we talk about how many e-buses BSRCTC has, then currently 25 e-buses are in city service.
