More than 100 children fall ill after eating mid-day meal in Bagaha, admitted to hospital after headache and restlessness

The health of hundreds of children deteriorated on Monday due to eating mid-day meal in Bagaha. In the Government Middle School located at Bansgaon-Parsauni in Bhairoganj police station area, most of the children became seriously ill after having mid-day meal at around 12:30 pm on Monday. Due to which there was chaos among the school management and family members. The sick children were immediately taken to the local PHC for treatment. Where the doctor, seeing the critical condition of the children, referred them to the sub-divisional hospital Bagaha.

104 children fell ill

As soon as the information was received, a crowd of parents gathered. After this, an ambulance was immediately called and the process of taking the children to the hospital started. Of these, 64 sick children have been taken to Bagaha Sub-Divisional Hospital and 40 to Ramnagar for treatment. In which two children from Ramnagar have been sent to Bettiah District Hospital for better treatment.

Children complained of vomiting and headache

It is being told that as per the menu on Monday, rice, pulses and vegetables were given to the children. Which the children ate during lunch time. But after some time the health of the children started deteriorating. Some had headache and some started vomiting.

The smell of kerosene was coming from the food.

All the children are being treated in Bagaha under the leadership of Dr. KBN Singh. In Ramnagar, within a short time, 40 children started complaining of headache, restlessness and vomiting. Children complained about the strong smell of kerosene in the food. The mid-day meal was cooked in the school itself. As a result, sick children were brought to Ramnagar PHC. Where students Sandeep Kumar, Ajit Kumar and one other were referred to Sadar Hospital Bettiah.

Two children were referred in critical condition

In this regard, Dr. Chandra Bhushan, Medical Officer in-charge of Ramnagar PHC, said that two children have been referred in critical condition. The situation of the remaining 42 children is under control after treatment. It is worth noting that earlier in the Government Middle School Narwal Barwal of Block Bagaha 2, about 250 children had fallen ill after eating MDM food. Which was investigated by the Human Rights Commission.

These children got sick

The children who reached the hospital for treatment included Arun Kumar 10 years, Prince Kumar 10 years, Sujit Kumar 14 years, Ravi Raj 8 years, Munnu Kumar 14 years, Golu Kumar 11 years, Sachin Patel 8 years, Nandini Kumari 8 years, Sujit Kumar, Six years, Chandni Kumari, 10 years, Ayush Kumar, 10 years, Sujit Kumar, six years, Sachin Patel, eight years, Mannu Kumar, 13 years, Ravi Kumar, 13 years, Suganti Kumar, 13 years etc.
