Actually, the withdrawal of monsoon is fixed in India from 17th September. This time the withdrawal of monsoon has started from Monday, eight days after the normal date. India Meteorological Department (IMD) has given this information. According to IMD, southwest monsoon started withdrawing from some parts of southwest Rajasthan today. The normal date of its return from south-west Rajasthan was 17 September.

Monsoon is returning late for the 13th time
With the delay in the withdrawal of monsoon this year, this is the 13th consecutive time that the monsoon is returning late. Any delay in the withdrawal of monsoon directly means that the rainy season will continue for a long time. Generally, the southwest monsoon arrives in Kerala on June 1 and covers the entire country by July 8. It starts returning from northwest India around 17 September and disappears from the entire country by 15 October.

Monsoon active in 18 states of the country
Monsoon is currently active in 18 states of the country. Due to the active monsoon, it is raining heavily in many other states including Delhi, Bihar, Jharkhand, Maharashtra. The Meteorological Department has said that monsoon is active in 18 states of the country including Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra, Bihar, Jharkhand, Telangana, Andhra, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh. It is raining heavily in these states. There are flood like situations in many areas. The worst situation is in Nagpur, Maharashtra. There is news of death of four people in Nagpur due to heavy rains.

Snowfall along with rain in Kashmir
The effect of active monsoon is also visible in Kashmir. There is snowfall in the upper areas of Kashmir and rain in the plains. Due to snowfall and rain, the minimum temperature in the valley has dropped significantly. There has been snowfall in the upper areas of South Kashmir including Amarnath Cave Temple and Gulmarg in North Kashmir. Most parts of the valley received moderate rainfall and Srinagar city recorded 18.3 mm rainfall till 8.30 am on Monday. Due to rain, the temperature has dropped significantly and the minimum temperature in Srinagar reached 10.8 degrees Celsius on Sunday night, which was 13 degrees Celsius the night before.
