Monsoon became a disaster for many states including Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, rain took lives of many people, loss of lakhs

Monsoon Rain: With the entry of monsoon in North India, heavy rains have started from the mountains to the plains. Heavy rains have brought relief from the scorching heat, but for many areas rain has also become a problem. In many states, the first shower of monsoon has created a ruckus. In this episode, rain has become a disaster in many districts of Himachal Pradesh. Due to heavy rains in many districts including Mandi, life has become chaotic.

Two killed in Himachal Pradesh, loss of Rs 78 lakh
It is raining heavily in Himachal Pradesh. Cloudburst caused flash floods in Solan and Hamirpur districts of the state, while two people died in Shimla, Mandi and Kullu districts due to heavy rains. Crops have also been damaged due to floods and heavy rains, houses and vehicles have also been damaged. Apart from this, many cattle were washed away in the flood water. According to the State Emergency Operation Center, one person each drowned in Hamirpur and Shimla districts on Sunday. The rains damaged 11 houses and vehicles as well as four gaushalas. According to the Centre, the state has suffered an estimated loss of Rs 78 lakh in the last 24 hours. At the same time, due to heavy rains in the state’s Mandi district, a landslide has occurred near 7 miles on the Chandigarh-Manali highway.

Two people died due to rain in Uttarakhand
Heavy rains have started in Uttarakhand with the onset of monsoon. Two people died and three others were injured due to monsoon rains. CM Pushkar Singh Dhami reached the State Disaster Control Room and took stock of the rain situation across the state and appealed to the Char Dham devotees to travel only after getting information about the weather. A person traveling in a vehicle was killed when it came under the debris of a landslide following heavy rains on the Kedarnath motorway in Rudraprayag district on Sunday.

The flood situation in Assam remains serious and about five lakh people are in its grip. Major rivers of the state, including the Brahmaputra, are flowing above the danger mark at different places. About 4.89 lakh people have been affected in 19 districts of the state. In the last 24 hours, one person died due to drowning in flood water in Nalbari district. The total death toll in Assam floods has gone up to 2. According to the flood report of the State Disaster Management Authority, around 2.67 lakh people have been affected in Bajali district alone.

Madhya Pradesh – Orange-yellow alert issued regarding rain
The south-west monsoon has also knocked in Madhya Pradesh. Orange alert has been issued due to the possibility of extremely heavy rains in two districts of the state in the next 24 hours and yellow alert has been issued due to the possibility of heavy rains in nine districts. According to IMD, there may be heavy rain and thundershowers at isolated places in nine districts of the state including Balaghat, Dindori, Anuppur, Tikamgarh, Niwari, Ashoknagar, Gwalior, Datia and Seoni. According to the Meteorological Department, in the last 24 hours, 44.2 mm of rainfall was recorded in Sidhi of Madhya Pradesh, while 42.3 mm in Satna, 31.6 mm in Rewa, 25.4 mm in Ratlam, 22.4 mm in Guna.

Srinagar National Highway jammed due to heavy rain
The Jammu-Srinagar National Highway has been blocked due to landslides triggered by heavy rains in Jammu and Kashmir’s Ramban sector. A large number of trucks are stranded in Udhampur district due to road blockade.

Water logging due to heavy rains in Rajasthan
After heavy rains in Rajasthan, there has been water-logging in many parts of Sriganganagar city. IMD has said that it will be partly cloudy today in Sriganganagar and there is a possibility of rain or thunderstorm or dust storm.
