Jharkhand High Court heard a PIL filed regarding the change in population due to the entry of Bangladeshi infiltrators into Jharkhand. During the hearing of the case, the division bench of Chief Justice Sanjay Kumar Mishra and Justice Anand Sen provided time to the applicant to file a counter reply to the affidavit of the Central Government. Also, November 22 was fixed for the next hearing of the case. Earlier, advocate Prashant Pallav filed an affidavit on behalf of the Central Government and said that as per the law, the powers have been delegated to the State Government. Foreign people have to be identified, kept in camps and sent back. The state government has to take action in this matter. Advocate Rajeev Kumar, appearing on behalf of the applicant, said that he will file a reply to the affidavit of the Central Government. Adequate documents are available with them, but the state government is not taking any action in this matter. Demography of many districts of Jharkhand is changing due to Bangladeshi infiltrators.

It has been said in the petition that in the districts of Santal Pargana (Sahibganj, Pakud, Godda, Jamtara and Dumka) which are adjacent to Bangladesh, Bangladeshi infiltrators are systematically allowed to enter there. These infiltrators marry local tribal girls (love jihad). Tribal people are buying land and causing demographic change by converting their religion. Not only this, the infiltrators field their tribal wives in the elections on reserved seats. In the last few years, there has been a sudden increase in the number of madrassas in Santal Pargana. Bangladeshi infiltrators come to the districts adjacent to the border and are accommodated in madrassas. Their documents are prepared there. After this, it is decided where the infiltrator has to go and where he has to stay. Then it is executed as per the plan. The applicant has also attached the list of about 47 newly established madrasas in Sahibganj (highest in Borio block) with the petition.
