75 lakh free LPG connections

The government on Wednesday approved the proposal to release Rs 1,650 crore to state-run petroleum companies to provide 75 lakh new LPG connections to women under the Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana. Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur informed about this decision taken in the Union Cabinet meeting led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Thakur said that the Cabinet agreed to provide 75 lakh new LPG connections under the Ujjwala scheme. With this, the total number of women benefiting under this scheme will increase to 10.35 crore. A total expenditure of Rs 1,650 crore will be incurred on this, the burden of which will be borne by the Central Government. This amount will be released to public sector petroleum marketing companies. Pradhan Mantri Ujjwala Yojana was started by Prime Minister Modi in May 2016. Under this scheme, free gas connections are given to women from families living below the poverty line.

Phase-3 of e-Court Mission Mode Project approved

Union Minister Anurag Thakur said, Phase-3 of the e-Court Mission Mode Project has been approved today. It will be completed at a cost of approximately Rs 7,210 crore.

Cabinet passes resolution congratulating Prime Minister Modi on successful organization of G20

The Union Cabinet on Wednesday passed a resolution praising the able leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and congratulating him on behalf of the countrymen for the great success of the recently concluded G20 summit. Union Minister Anurag Thakur gave this information. After the meeting, Information and Broadcasting Minister Anurag Thakur told reporters that Defense Minister Rajnath Singh presented this proposal in the Union Cabinet meeting. He said that in this resolution, he (the Prime Minister) was congratulated by the countrymen on the successful organization of the G20 summit under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the leadership of India. He told that it has been said in the proposal that the successful organization of G20 is a symbol of the efficient leadership and strong will power of the Prime Minister and its successful organization is being discussed not only in India but all over the world.

The resolution said that India has always talked about inclusive growth and inclusivity and the inclusion of the African Union in the G20 group proves this. The Information and Broadcasting Minister said that India has today emerged as the voice of the Global South. The term ‘Global South’ is often used to refer to developing and least developed countries, located primarily in Africa, Asia and Latin America. Thakur said that the proposal moved by Defense Minister Rajnath Singh was passed unanimously.
