MNREGA workers of Lohardaga did not get salary for 3 months, appealed to the minister, but no initiative was taken

Twenty MNREGA workers working in Block cum Zonal Office, Kudu have not received honorarium for last three months. Due to this, a situation of starvation has arisen before them. Shopkeepers are not ready to give ration on credit. The employees appealed to the block office, district administration and local MLA cum Minister Dr. Rameshwar Oraon regarding honorarium payment, but till now no initiative has been taken. It is told that under MNREGA in Kudu block office, Block Program Officer Arbind Roshan, Chariya Lakra, Assistant Engineer Vishal Minj, Junior Engineer Mo Asif and Ajay Kachhap, Employment Servants Binod Ram, Mukesh Kumar, Sandeep Kumar, Sudarshan Bhagat, Mo Shamsul, Asadullah Ansari, Rupanjali Kumari, Rajni Lakra, Rajni Minj, Nutan Toppo, Mamta Kumari, Sukra Dhan, Srivastava Bhagat, Accounts Assistant Sumati Kumari and Computer Operator Mukesh Yadav are working.

The entire responsibility of making the development schemes run under MNREGA successful rests on these MNREGA workers. MNREGA workers have not received honorarium from July to September. MNREGA workers had submitted the bill for payment of honorarium, but the honorarium could not be paid. It is said that there is no allotment for payment of honorarium to MNREGA workers. Allotment for payment of honorarium has not been issued by the Central and State Governments. MNREGA workers are upset due to non-payment of honorarium during the festival season. An MNREGA worker said that shopkeepers are not ready to give ration on credit. The shopkeeper is owed two months’ ration money. The shopkeeper has refused to give ration. The financial condition of the house has deteriorated.

Bill related to honorarium payment has been passed:

BDO Manoranjan Kumar said that the bill related to payment of honorarium to MNREGA workers has been passed. Payment will be made as soon as the allotment arrives. The district administration has been informed.
