MNREGA work time changed due to severe heat in Bihar, commissioner sent letter to all district magistrates

In view of the scorching heat prevailing in Bihar and the daily heat wave, the working period of MNREGA has been changed. Now the working hours of MNREGA have been fixed from 6 am to 11 am and from 3:30 pm to 6:30 pm in the evening. The MNREGA commissioner has sent a letter in this regard to the DMs of all the districts.

Instructions to speed up the digging of Ahar and pond

Along with the change in the working period, the commissioner has also directed to speed up the digging of Ahar and pond. So that, by filling water in these feeding troughs, the thirst of animals and birds can be quenched. All the District Magistrates have been ordered to provide drinking water and first aid to laborers in case of sunstroke at the workplace. In the light of this order, the commissioner has also directed to give information about the initiatives taken in the districts.

17 districts in the grip of heat wave

Please inform that 17 districts in Bihar were in the grip of heat wave on Wednesday. In these five districts of Begusarai, Sheikhpura, Khagaria, Motihari and Banka, dangerous heatwave prevailed. Normal life was badly affected in the state due to heatwave for the fifth consecutive day. Now in such a situation, working in this scorching heat can have a bad effect on the health of MNREGA workers. That’s why the working period of MNREGA has been changed.

The temperature of many districts is close to 44 degree Celsius.

In Bihar, the maximum temperature has broken all records in the month of April itself due to the westerly wind and strong rays of the sun. The temperature in many districts of the state has reached close to 44 degree Celsius. Due to increase in temperature, the problems of the people have increased. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department has expressed the possibility of continuing the same situation for the next two days.
