Mission Raniganj OTT: Akshay Kumar-starrer ‘Mission Raniganj’ was released more than a month ago and received a mixed response from the audience.
It was expected that the film would perform well at the box office but it was not successful in drawing the audience back to the theatres.
‘Mission Raniganj’ is based on a real incident in the Raniganj coalfield and focuses on the story of Late Shri Jaswant Singh Gill, who played a vital role in rescuing all the surviving miners trapped inside the flooded coal mine in Raniganj in November 1989.
The film has reportedly finalized its OTT release date. According to the website Binged, ‘Mission Raniganj’ will be released on Netflix on December 1, 2023. The official OTT release date of the film has not been announced yet.
The tagline of the film was ‘The Great Indian Rescue’, which was changed to ‘The Great Bharat Rescue’. In a media interaction, Akshay talked about the new tagline.
ACT said, “Is India a wrong name? India is not wrong, it is absolutely right. We did it because it is a great name.” Mission Raniganj is produced by Vashu Bhagnani, Jackky Bhagnani, Deepshikha Deshmukh and Ajay Kapoor.
Apart from Akshay and Parineeti, ‘Mission Raniganj’ also stars Kumud Mishra, Pawan Malhotra, Ravi Kishan, Varun Badola, Divyendu Bhattacharya, Rajesh Sharma, Virendra Saxena, Shishir Sharma, Anant Mahadevan, Jamil Khan, Sudhir Pandey, Bachan Pachera, Mukesh Bhatt. .
Talking about the work front, Akshay Kumar was last seen in ‘OMG 2’ with Pankaj Tripathi and Yami Gautam. He will act in ‘Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan’, ‘Housefull 5’, ‘Hera Pheri 3’, ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ and ‘Jolly LLB 3’.
