Mission 2023: Jharkhand’s politics heats up for Lok Sabha elections, many contenders for Chatra seat

Ranchi, Anand Mohan: There is a stir in the politics of Jharkhand regarding the Lok Sabha elections. NDA-UPA contenders are raising their arms on 14 Lok Sabha seats in Jharkhand. The politics of Jharkhand is moving ahead with the election mood. Contenders are lobbying for tickets on different seats in the opposition. There is a lot of discussion about the Chatra parliamentary seat. BJP’s Sunil Singh became MP for two consecutive terms riding on the Modi wave in Chatra seat. He had won the election in the last election by more than three and a half lakh votes, but this time Sunil Singh’s peg is shaking from Chatra. In the last election too, he was able to get the ticket after going through many hiccups. Workers and leaders at the local level are vocal against them. A section of BJP leaders is also trying to spoil their game.

Former CM Raghubar Das is considered a strong contender from Chatra seat

It is discussed that the present MP Sunil Singh is not spending time in the area. Chatra is not active in many areas of parliamentary constituency. A BJP leader of Chatra has also complained about them to the in-charge Laxmikant Vajpayee. At the same time, people close to the MP say that he is also looking for his new land. Here, in BJP, former Chief Minister Raghuvar Das is being considered as a strong contender from this seat. The party can bet on Mr. Das. There is a preparation to block the path of UPA by putting forward a big face.

Many contenders from BJP

Chatra is probably the only parliamentary seat in the entire state from where BJP has many contenders. No one speaks openly, the eye is on this parliamentary seat. Bhavnathpur MLA Bhanu Pratap Shahi and Panki MLA Shashibhushan Mehta are eyeing this seat. The name of long established leader Girinath Singh is being discussed in the politics of Jharkhand. On the other hand, Praveen Singh is trying to create a new equation by visiting Chatra these days. At the same time, Pratul Shahdev, associated with Chandwa and BJP’s state spokesperson, is also active in the area. Party leader Jyotiriswar Singh is also hopeful. Manoj Yadav, who was a candidate from Congress in the last Lok Sabha elections, was in second place. Mr. Yadav is currently with the BJP. The ticket contenders in the BJP also take Mr. Yadav seriously. BJP’s training chief Manoj Singh and some doctors of the capital are also making up their mind. Ophthalmologists Dr. Abhishek Singh and Dr. Abhishek Ramdin are roaming in the BJP camp.

Dheeraj Sahu will be the pivot of UPA

This seat in the UPA may go to the Congress in the alliance. In the last election, the Congress fielded Manoj Yadav. Rajya Sabha MP from Chatra Dhiraj Sahu will be the pivot of UPA after Mr. Yadav’s joining BJP. He is a strong contender in the Congress. Subhash Yadav, who contested from RJD in the last election, is in the process of changing the seat in the coming elections. He can move to Koderma.

Minister Satyanand Bhokta played his card

Here, state government minister Satyanand Bhokta from RJD has played his card. Bhokta is currently elected from Chatra assembly. Bhokta has now joined the ST category. In such a situation, Mr. Bhokta is compelled to find a new land. On the other hand, UPA is in possession of three out of five assembly constituencies of Chatra parliamentary constituency. In the last assembly elections, RJD had won from Chatra, Congress from Manika and JMM from Latehar. Whereas Panki and Simaria are with the BJP. In such a situation, this time the contest between NDA and UPA in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections will be thrilling. Like last time, the contest may not be one-sided.
