Lucknow. A Mathura court on Wednesday sentenced a man to life imprisonment for raping his 10-year-old step-daughter. The court of Additional District and Sessions Judge (constituted under the POCSO Act) also imposed a fine of Rs 80,000 on him. A case was registered against this person on May 18 this year.
FIR was lodged on 17 May
Special District Public Prosecutor Alka Upamanyu said that Additional District and Sessions Judge Ram Kishore Yadav passed the sentence order and held the accused guilty of raping his minor step-daughter. The public prosecutor said that in her complaint, the girl’s mother had accused her husband Mahendra Singh of raping her daughter on May 17 at a remote place. A case was registered against Mahender Singh under sections 376 (rape) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the Indian Penal Code and section 5M/6 of the POCSO Act.
Farah police filed charge sheet on June 12
Alka Upamanyu said that the Farah police had filed the charge sheet in the case on June 12. The court had sentenced the accused to life imprisonment within 26 working days. This decision of the court is considered to be one of the decisions given in the shortest time.
