Minister Baby Devi from INDIA and Yasoda Devi from NDA filed nomination papers for Dumri by-election

Giridih, Mrinal Sinha : On Thursday, on the last day of nomination for Dumri assembly by-election, India’s candidate Baby Devi and NDA’s candidate Yasoda Devi reached the subdivision office Dumri and filed their nomination papers. JMM MLA Mathura Mahato, Parv MLA Jaimangal Singh, Yogendra Mahato Sudivya Kumar Sonu, Sarfaraz Ahmed, Male MLA Binod Singh reached the subdivision office during nomination with India’s candidate Baby Devi. At the same time, along with NDA candidate Yashoda Devi, AJSU supremo Sudesh Mahto, former MP Dr. Ravindra Rai, MLA Randhir Singh, MLA Narayan Das, Dumri BJP leader Pradeep Sahu reached during the nomination.

Baby Devi is the wife of the late Jagarnath Mahto, former education minister of Jharkhand, who took oath as minister on 3 July. Baby Devi has four daughters and one son. Among them the eldest daughters are Sunita Devi, Reena Devi, Poonam Devi and Geeta Devi. All the four daughters are married. Son Akhilesh Mahato alias Raju is the youngest. who are still unmarried. The identity of the late minister’s wife has always been as a skilled housewife. In the past, sometimes she used to attend party programs along with Jagarnath Mahato. After the minister’s death, she has been actively participating in party programs in her Dumri assembly constituency with her son Akhilesh Mahto for the last two and a half months. Baby Devi’s maiden is in Jeetpur located in Gomo of Tundi assembly constituency.

Dumri by-election will be held on September 5

The upcoming Dumri assembly by-election is on September 5, 2023. Administrative activities including political have intensified regarding this. But for the by-election, 373 booths have been made in 37 panchayats of Dumri block and 24 panchayats of Navadih block of Bokaro district and nine panchayats of Chandrapura block. The total number of voters are 2,98,629. There are 1,54,452 male and 1,44,174 female voters in this. There are 199 booths in Dumri block, 129 in Navadih and 45 in Chandrapura block. The date of scrutiny of nomination papers will be on August 18, 2023. Whereas, the last date for withdrawal of nomination is on August 21, 2023. Voting will be held on September 05, 2023. After which the counting of votes will be done on 08 September. The last date for conducting the by-elections has been fixed as September 10, 2023.
