Microsoft has been providing WordPad applications in every operating system since 1995.
For your information, let us tell you that Microsoft was providing WordPad application in each of its operating systems since 1995. Currently it is also present in Windows 11. Let us tell you that now Microsoft company is going to remove it in the new build of Windows 11. Besides this, it will no longer be possible to reinstall it. If you wonder why the company is doing this, then the reason for this is said to be very less use of WordPad. Along with this, the company has given two better alternatives to its users.
Classified as deprecated Windows feature
According to the information revealed, WordPad will no longer come pre-installed after a clean installation of the OS starting from the current build. Additionally, in an upcoming release, WordPad will be completely removed and it will not be possible to reinstall the application. Microsoft classifies WordPad as a deprecated Windows feature. This indicates that it is no longer actively developed and may be retired in a future Windows release.
Use these two apps instead of Wordpad
The good news for WordPad users is that the company has not yet removed it from the stable Windows 11 version. You can still use it. At present, the changes have been made in the beta version which may also come in the stable version later. If you use WordPad app, now you should use Microsoft Word or Notepad app instead. For text documents you can use Notepad while for .doc files you can use Microsoft Word. New features have been given to you in both the apps, which will make it easier for you to work.
