MG Motor gave a big blow to the customers, increased the price of Hector and Gloster SUVs

New Delhi : MG Motor India has increased the prices of its two SUVs (Sports Utility Vehicles) Hector and Gloster, giving a big blow to the customers of India. This is the second hike in the prices of both the SUVs by the automaker within three months. In the new price hike, SUVs have become costlier by up to Rs 78,000 depending on the selected model and variant. This hike is much higher than the one implemented by MG Motor in May this year.

MG Motor had increased the prices in May as well.

According to media reports, the prices of SUVs Hector and Gloster were increased by MG Motor in May as well and now the company has again announced an increase of up to Rs 78,000 in their price only after two months. These days, if you are also looking to buy MG’s fullsize SUV Gloster or one of the diesel or petrol variants of Hector and Hector Plus, this is a blow for them.

Prices of these four variants of Hector’s petrol engine increased

MG Motor has increased the prices of the four petrol engined variants of the Hector. Now the price of Hector Pro manual has increased by Rs 30 thousand to Rs 18.65 lakh. At the same time, the price of Sharp Pro manual has increased by Rs 30,000 to Rs 20.11 lakh, the price of Sharp Pro CVT has increased by Rs 30,000 to Rs 21.44 lakh and the price of Savvy Pro CVT variant has increased by Rs 30,000 to Rs 22.39 lakh.

In the diesel engine option of MG Hector, the price of Shine manual variant has increased by Rs 26 thousand to Rs 18.85 lakh. At the same time, the smart manual variant has now become costlier by Rs 27,000 to Rs 19.94 lakh, the price of Smart Pro manual has increased by Rs 58,000 to Rs 21.29 lakh and the price of Sharp Pro manual has increased by Rs 60,000 to Rs 22.72 lakh.

Starting price of Gloster SUV increased

According to the official website, the starting price of the Gloster SUV has increased significantly. This SUV competes with Toyota Fortuner and Jeep Meridian. Now it will come at an initial price of Rs 38.80 lakh (ex-showroom). Earlier, the base variant of Gloster Sharp 7-seater 2WD used to cost Rs 38.09 lakh (ex-showroom). The prices of two other variants Sharp 2WD and Sharp 4WD have also increased. The top-end variant has seen the biggest hike of ₹ 78,000. Now its price will be Rs 43.16 lakh (ex-showroom). MG Motor recently launched the Blackstorm model of the Gloster SUV at Rs 40.29 lakh (ex-showroom). Available in six and seven seater variants and both 2WD and 4WD models, the Gloster Blackstorm model prices go up to Rs.43.07 lakh (ex-showroom).

The price of Hector SUV also increased

The Hector SUV received a major update earlier this year, the company has also hiked its price drastically. Available in both petrol and diesel, the starting price of Hector remains the same. However, there are several medium and top-end variants, which have been affected by this hike. In the petrol engine, the Hector variants Smart Pro, Sharp Pro and Savvy Pro have seen a price hike of Rs 30,000. Where the Hector petrol top-end variant will now cost Rs 22.39 lakh. At the same time, the price of Hector Plus petrol top variant will be Rs 22.72 lakh after an increase of Rs 60,000. Unlike the petrol variants of the Hector, the prices of all the diesel variants of the SUV have gone up in the range of Rs 30,000 to Rs 61,000. The price of the Hector diesel variant now starts at Rs 20.81 lakh, going up to Rs 23.58 lakh (ex-showroom).
