The body of deceased farmer Jagbir reached the village at around 10.00 pm with heavy police force. Which was kept in Kisan Junior High School outside the village. The villagers and family members refused to perform the rites at night, insisting that the rites should be performed as per Hindu customs. On behalf of the victim’s family, it has been said that the last rites will be performed on Sunday morning.

The crowd gathered at the spot brought him down from the tower with great difficulty. Son Akash says that the forest department plowed and destroyed our ready crop standing in the field. Our 80 years old ancestral land has been taken over by the Forest Department. The minister is pricing it at Rs 2 lakh.

On hearing the news of Jagbir’s death, anger has spread among the family members. The family members are adamant on going to Mawana and protesting, while some villagers are trying to convince the victim’s family. But the family is not agreeing. The family members say that they will not perform his last rites until action is taken against the guilty officials. SP MLA Atul Pradhan and BJP leader Akash Gurjar continuously talked to the administrative officials regarding some demands on behalf of the victim’s family. However, no demand has been accepted by the administration yet. SDM Akhilesh Yadav and police station in-charge Vijay Bahadur had reached the village, where they tried to convince the villagers. SDM Akhilesh Yadav had assured the villagers of all possible help. Also said that a complete investigation will be conducted impartially in this matter. But now due to the death of the farmer, the officials have become helpless. The deceased’s son Akash has lodged a complaint at the police station against several officers in the murder case.

Farmer Jagveer had arrived with an application for re-measurement of the land, but committed suicide before investigation and action could be taken. If anyone’s negligence is found in the investigation, strict action will be taken.

Regional Forest Officer Ravikant Chaudhary said that this land was under illegal occupation for the last several years. Under the campaign, it was freed from encroachment by running tractors and the forest department has taken this land under its control. Wherever there is illegal encroachment and encroachment on forest department land, they are being freed. He told that this campaign will continue continuously. About five hundred hectares of land on the banks of Ganga in Khadar area has been freed from encroachment and identified. Saplings will be planted on this land by the Forest Department.
