Meerut : In UP’s Meerut, a case of cheating people on the pretext of marriage has come to the fore. By creating fake marriage bureaus, they used to collect money and gold from youths after trapping them. The police has exposed the gang of that marriage bureau. Three girls have been arrested in this case, while the search is on for two accused, including the main leader, who was working as a bureau operator.
This action has been taken on the complaint of a youth resident of Ghaziabad. This trap of fake marriage bureau is spread from West UP to Uttarakhand. In the guise of which money and jewelery were being collected. The leader of the gang was cheating only with his wife and children. They have made more than 100 youths a victim of fraud in four months. This whole gang of boys and girls used to catch a customer first and then used to promise to get them married.
Used to target rich youths
Medical police station raided a marriage bureau named Shaadi Sangeet in Tejgarhi area. During this, 3 boys and 3 girls were found working. CO Civil Line Arvind Chaurasia told that all the three girls caught are from the families of both the absconding accused. He further told that the gangs used to trap customers by giving online matrimonial ads. These people used to trap bachelor boys on the main target and then people with money and businessmen as well.
Used to call for meeting at Meerut office
Such people were also their target who were divorced or wanted to remarry. If the photo was shown and liked, the gang used to call the customer to their office in Meerut and then arranged a meeting with the same girl. In which the entire family of the boy was also there. When the talk was final, he used to ask for money and jewelry for the girl in the name of Roka ceremony and promised to get her married after 5 days of Roka. But they used to run away as soon as they got the money and jewellery.
The diary found during the raid will reveal
The gang used to trap people from Amroha, Moradabad to Shamli, Ghaziabad and cities like Noida and Dehradun. During the investigation, the police got hold of a customer’s diary from the marriage bureau’s office. According to the information, there are names and numbers of many people in that diary, whom this gang has made their victims. In such a situation, now the police is contacting those numbers, so that it can be known that in total how many people have been cheated and how much amount has been cheated.
Used to pick up records from the site for registering for marriage
In the investigation of the police, it has been revealed that the gang members used to keep an eye on the websites on which the young men and women used to register by uploading their profiles for marriage. He also picked up the record of Ghaziabad’s victim Ramanand Pathak from a website. After this he was called to Meerut and made his victim.
