A massive explosion took place in a junk shop in Incholi area of Amhera of Ganganagar police station area in Meerut. Pieces of scrap material were blown away in the explosion that occurred while extracting copper from the army’s rocket launcher shell. A young man and a retired soldier were also badly injured in the explosion. There was hue and cry on the spot after the accident. The people of the area also got scared after hearing the loud explosion. The glasses of nearby houses were broken. On receiving the information, police including ATS, Military Intelligence and Dog Squad team reached the spot and investigated for hours. According to the information, Tausif alias Islamu (65), a resident of Mirapur, Bijnor, lived with his wife Akbari. Tausif has a junk shop on Ganganagar Amhera Road for about 20 years. At around 9.30 am on Wednesday, Tausif was breaking the army’s rocket launcher shell with a hammer. Due to the presence of gunpowder in it, there was an explosion. The explosion was so fierce that the stone on which the shell was being broken was shattered to pieces. Tausif’s body parts were scattered here and there. The surrounding walls shook.
The area was sealed
In this accident, retired soldier Ramendra Singh, resident of Shivlok Colony, who was riding a scooter and was passing in front of the scrap shop, and Faimu, resident of Maithna village of Incholi, a carpenter working in a nearby shop, also got hit. Both are undergoing treatment in the hospital. Hearing the sound of the explosion, people ran towards the spot. On information, senior police officers including Ganganagar, Incholi police station in-charge reached the spot. The area around the shop was sealed. Forensic team, field unit, dog squad, military intelligence, ATS and intelligence department teams reached the spot. The entire shop was searched. Police have recovered two open and two closed rocket launcher shells from the spot. While breaking the fifth shell there was an explosion. Police collected the pieces of Tausif’s body and sent it for post-mortem. Both the injured Faimu and Ramendra Singh are undergoing treatment in the hospital, they are not in a position to tell anything right now. SSP Rohit Singh Sajwan told that investigation is being done from where the bomb shell was brought.
Scorpio collides with cow on the highway, cow dies
On Tuesday late evening, a speeding Scorpio coming from Delhi collided with a cow crossing the road on the Delhi-Dehradun Highway located in Kankarkheda police station area of Meerut. During this, the Scorpio got damaged, due to which the driver was slightly injured. The cow died on the spot due to the collision with the Scorpio. After this, nearby people gathered at the spot. Gave information about the matter to the police. On receiving the information, people of Hindu organization also reached the spot and started creating ruckus. The police have taken the Scorpio driver into custody and started questioning. The incident happened late Tuesday evening.
According to the information, a speeding Scorpio coming from Delhi hit a stray cow crossing the road on the Delhi-Dehradun Bypass Highway. Due to which the cow died on the spot. The same Scorpio also got damaged and the driver was injured. After the incident, there was a long jam on the highway. After getting information about the matter, nearby people reached the spot and informed the police. The police reached the spot after receiving the information and were interrogating the Scorpio driver when people from the Hindu organization also reached the spot and created a ruckus. Seeing the increasing commotion, the police took the Scorpio driver into custody. The damaged Scorpio was removed from the highway by calling for a crane. Somehow the jam was cleared and the highway was opened. The police has sent the Scorpio driver for treatment.
