Maruti Suzuki: Top in export of India-made cars, figure reached 2.5 million

Maruti Suzuki India Crosses 25 Lakh Vehicles Export MarkMaruti Suzuki, the country’s largest vehicle manufacturer, has created a new record. It has crossed the export figure of more than 25 lakh vehicles. The vehicles of the company are exported to the country and abroad.

Vehicle manufacturer Maruti Suzuki India Limited has said that since starting the export of vehicles in the 80s, it has crossed the figure of 2.5 million units of cumulative exports.

The company started exports in 1986-87 to neighboring markets like Bangladesh and Nepal. Currently, it exports vehicles to around 100 countries including Africa, Latin America, Asia and West Asia. Maruti Suzuki said in a statement that its 2.5 millionth vehicle exported is the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, which was sent to Latin America from Mudra port in Gujarat.

Hisashi Takeuchi, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Maruti Suzuki India said, “The export of the 25 millionth vehicle is a hallmark of India’s manufacturing capability. This achievement reflects the commitment of Maruti Suzuki towards the ambitious Make in India initiative of the Government of India. Takeuchi said that today Maruti Suzuki is India’s largest exporter of passenger vehicles. (with language input)
