Swift will give a mileage of 40
The return of diesel engines has reduced the number of high mileage vehicles, but Maruti is ready to fill that gap with its hybrid. Swift is set to become the highest mileage car in India with a fuel efficiency of 40 kmpl.
Demand for small hybrid cars increased
Although the company has not announced it officially, hybrid engines are expected to be available in Swift and Dezire models. An electric motor will be installed in the 1.2-litre three-cylinder engine. Even if small electric vehicles come in the market, Maruti hopes that there will be demand for small hybrid cars also.
Strong hybrid version of hatchback Swift to be launched in 2024
Maruti is expected to launch a strong hybrid version of the hatchback Swift in 2024. The new car will come with an engine that offers a fuel efficiency of around 40 kmpl.
The hybrid is expected to be priced around Rs 1 lakh to Rs 1.5 lakh more than the current Swift.

Demand for hybrid engine increased after Grand Vitara
Maruti’s withdrawal of diesel engines has reduced the ‘magnitude’ of mileage, but the Grand Vitara’s fuel efficiency of 27.97 kmpl has once again brought fuel economy into the spotlight. Currently, the hybrid Vitara comes with a 1.5-litre engine. Maruti is well aware that a single model cannot satisfy Indian customers who want greater fuel efficiency. So, after the Grand Vitara Hybrid, Maruti is trying to bring another strong hybrid in the market.
