Maruti Suzuki India said that it is recalling 7,213 units of the Baleno RS model. The company suspects that there is a defect in the vacuum pump (a part that helps brake function) of this car. The company told the stock exchanges that vehicles of this model manufactured between October 27, 2016 and November 1, 2019 will be recalled.

Maruti Suzuki India said, there is a possibility that there may be a fault in the vacuum pump that helps brake function. The affected vehicle may also find it difficult to press the brake pedal. The company said that the owners of the affected vehicles will get information about the replacement of the defective parts from the authorized dealer workshops of Maruti Suzuki. These will be replaced free of charge.

The company also said in a post on its website that it will also conduct a service campaign for 676 vehicles of Ertiga and XL6 models manufactured between June 24, 2022 and July 7, 2022, which are also suspected to have a defect in the front driveshaft. In January this year, the company had recalled 17,362 units of Alto K10, S-Presso, Eeco, Brezza, Baleno and Grand Vitara due to a defect in the airbag controller.
