Maruti Suzuki: Maruti Suzuki has recalled more than 16,000 units of Baleno and WagonR. Regarding this, the company issued a statement and informed that there is a possible fault in the fuel pump of the cars of these two models. The company has recalled 11,851 units of Baleno and 4,190 units of WagonR manufactured between 30 July 2019 and 1 November 2019. It was told by Maruti Suzuki that due to a bad fuel pump, the engine may stop or there may be problem in starting the engine. Affected vehicle owners will be contacted by Maruti Suzuki authorized dealer workshops so that the part can be replaced. This replacement will be done free of cost.

Baleno and WagonR are among the most popular models for the manufacturer. WagonR is a budget hatchback while Baleno is a premium hatchback. The price of Maruti Suzuki WagonR ranges between Rs 5.54 lakh to Rs 7.38 lakh while the price of Baleno ranges between Rs 8.07 lakh to Rs 11.68 lakh. All these prices are ex-showroom.

before this, Maruti Suzuki had ordered the recall of 87,000 units of S-Presso and Eeco vans. The carmaker issued a statement on Monday, July 24, saying that these vehicles have been recalled due to a possible defect in the steering wheel setup. The affected vehicles were manufactured in the last few years. The carmaker has assured that owners of the affected models will be informed to contact the nearest dealers so that the issue can be resolved without any payment.

two years ago Maruti Suzuki was forced to recall around two lakh units of various models including the Ciaz, Vitara Brezza and XL6 petrol variants due to a faulty motor generator unit. Last year, Maruti had recalled over 1.34 lakh WagonR and Baleno hatchbacks for a possible faulty fuel pump. In the same year, Maruti had recalled 63,493 units of Ciaz, Ertiga and XL6 petrol smart hybrid (SHVS) variants for a faulty motor generator unit.
