Maruti will make flying car in collaboration with Skydrive

Maruti Suzuki is making this flying car in partnership with Skydrive, which is a Japanese company. The upcoming Skycar is a multi-rotor aircraft, which is being designed in India to be used like a flying car. The concept of Skycar flying taxi will be especially useful for those urban areas where it is difficult to build an airport.

Will be constructed in Japan

Suzuki says that this flying car of Maruti will be manufactured at Suzuki Group’s factory in central Japan. The company aims to start production of such cars in the spring of 2024. Let us tell you that in September 2021, a Chennai-based startup Vinata Aeromobility had introduced the concept model of hybrid flying car in India. Suzuki said it has agreed to jointly begin producing flying cars with Japanese start-up Skydrive around spring 2024. According to the auto sector giant, its aim is to lead the growing industry.

Skydrive was showcased in Paris show

SkyDrive will establish a wholly owned production subsidiary that will assemble vehicles using Suzuki Group’s plant in Shizuoka Prefecture. At the same time, Suzuki will help in various aspects of manufacturing preparation including acquisition. Earlier, Skydrive had made public its plans to change the design of its vehicle at the Paris Airshow. It had given information about designing a car that could carry three people instead of two. The new design has an overall length of about 13 meters and height of 3 meters, will increase the maximum flight range from the current 10 km to about 15 km.

You will get relief from boring train-bus journey

The flying car is known as an electric vertical take-off and landing (eVTOL) aircraft. Flying cars are a type of aircraft that have the ability to take off and land at high altitudes by using multiple rotors. Vehicles are generally meant to carry a small number of people, some models are also made for use on the ground. According to Skydrive, light-weight eVTOL aircraft can land at airports located almost anywhere in the city. On the request of the passenger, the self-flying car will fly with the passenger and take him comfortably directly to his destination. This will eliminate traffic jams, delays caused by road work and traveling by train or bus.
