Mansukh Mandaviya will hold a high level meeting to review heatwave and public health preparedness

Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya will chair a high-level meeting today to review public health preparedness to deal with heatwave conditions prevailing in some parts of the country. Official sources gave this information. Sources said that NITI Aayog member (health) Dr VK Paul, Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) director general Dr Rajeev Behl and India Meteorological Department (IMD) experts will attend the meeting to be held at 11.30 am. Significantly, in the last few days, there are reports of some people losing their lives due to ‘Loo’ from different parts of the country including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Odisha.

More than 100 people have died

The weather agency has predicted severe to very severe heatwave conditions at different places like UP, Tamil Nadu, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Vidarbha, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Let us tell you that during the last few days, in many states like Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and Odisha, there have been reports of death of more than 100 people due to heat stroke. Due to rising temperature, 57 people have died in Ballia district of Uttar Pradesh. At the same time, more than 400 people have been admitted to the hospital.
