Delhi’s Rouse Avenue Court has allowed Manish Sisodia to meet his ailing wife once a week during his custodial parole. During this time the doctor will also meet him. The court said in its order that this arrangement will continue till further orders. At the same time, the court has fixed his regular bail hearing on 12th February.

Sisodia applied for early hearing in Supreme Court
Manish Sisodia has sought early hearing of his two curative petitions filed in the Supreme Court challenging the decision to deny him bail in 2023 in a corruption and money laundering case related to the alleged Delhi Excise Policy scam.

Sisodia has been in jail for a year
Senior advocate Abhishek Manu Singhvi, appearing for Sisodia, told the bench of Chief Justice DY Chandrachud, Justice JB Pardiwala and Justice Manoj Mishra that he has been in jail for the last one year. He has requested for immediate listing of his petitions. On Sisodia’s application, Justice Chandrachud said that he has already given instructions to list the petitions.

Sisodia’s wife has been ill for a long time
Let us tell you that Manish Sisodia is lodged in Tihar Jail for the last one year in the money laundering case. His wife has been ill for a long time. For whose maintenance Sisodia has demanded regular bail. However, even before this the court had given him bail of one day to meet his wife. Sisodia has demanded parole for two days. Apart from this, he has also applied for regular bail. His petition will be heard on February 12.

It is noteworthy that on December 14, 2023, the Supreme Court had rejected the petition requesting review of the October 30 decision of rejecting the bail pleas of Sisodia in corruption and money laundering cases related to the alleged Delhi Excise Policy scam. The top court had refused to grant bail to Sisodia saying that the evidence filed by the investigating agencies appeared to support the case of windfall profit of Rs 338 crore. Let us tell you, Sisodia was arrested by the Central Bureau of Investigation on 26 February 2023 for his alleged role in the scam.
