Mamata Banerjee: Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee ,Mamata Banerjee) alleged on Saturday that the villagers in Bhupatinagar area of Purba Medinipur district did not attack the National Investigation Agency (NIA) officials, but the NIA officials attacked the villagers. The Chief Minister claimed that the team of the investigating agency had gone to the houses of the villagers in the early hours in connection with the investigation of a firecracker bursting incident in 2022. Mamata Banerjee said during an election rally in Balurghat in South Dinajpur district, the attack was carried out by the women of Bhupatinagar. Didn’t do it, but was attacked by (officials of) National Investigation Agency. He said, if women are attacked, will women remain silent?
NIA, CBI brothers of BJP
He said that he had only protested against the visit of NIA officials to their homes regarding the December 2022 incident. Mamta Banerjee said, NIA, CBI are brothers of BJP, ED and IT department are the boxes that provide funds to BJP. He said in the rally, “If BJP has strength, then it should win the elections by fighting it democratically.” Don’t arrest my booth level workers and election agents. He condemned the arrest of former Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren in the alleged land scam and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in a case related to excise policy by central agencies. He said, everyone should get equal opportunities in elections.
Mamata Banerjee: Mamata Banerjee said, there are more allegations of corruption in BJP ruled states than in Bengal, if the Center has the courage then it should release a white paper.
Election Commission needs to be active: Sukant Majumdar
Regarding the demonstration by some protesters in front of NIA officers during the investigation in Bhupatinagar, West Bengal BJP President Sukant Majumdar said, “The incident in Bhupatinagar is not a new incident. Even before this, ED has been attacked. This type of incident has been done in a planned manner. There is planning by Mamata Banerjee and the entire team behind this. The Home Ministry should take action on this. This is an attack on the sovereignty of India. The Election Commission should be active on this.
