Chief Minister of West Bengal Mamata Banerjee (Mamata Banerjee) visited the Garden Reach area of Kolkata. Where two people died and at least seven were injured when an under-construction building collapsed. Mamata Banerjee has also directed Police Commissioner Vineet Goyal to take action against those involved in the illegal construction of this five-storey building. This building collapsed around midnight. He also visited the hospital where the injured are being treated. The Chief Minister said, this is a very crowded area. This building had no approval from the authorities and was illegal. I have asked the Police Commissioner and Kolkata Municipal Corporation to take action.

Officials from medical, fire and other departments are deployed for monitoring. The building was being constructed illegally. Official permission to construct the building was not given by the state administration. Orders have been given to investigate the accident, strict action will be taken. Action will be taken against those who are illegally involved in the construction of this building. The state government will provide assistance to the families of the dead and injured. Houses of nearby people have also been damaged, the government will help those people also.
Sujit Bose said, rescue is going on
On the incident of collapse of a 5-storey under-construction building in Kolkata’s Metiabruz, Fire and Emergency Services Minister Sujit Bose said, 13 people have been evacuated, rescue is going on. So far two people have died. The state government will give an amount of Rs 5 lakh to the families of the deceased and Rs 1 lakh to the families of the injured as compensation.
Police arrested a promoter
Firhad Hakim said that this accident happened due to illegal construction in the area. After the instructions of the Chief Minister, the activity of the police administration increased. One of the promoters has already been arrested. His name was initially mentioned as Mohammad Wasim. The inspection of the matter is going on.
