Makar Sankranti 2024: CM Yogi offered the first Khichdi to Mahayogi Gorakhnath, flood of faith gathered in the temple.

On the holy festival of Makar Sankranti, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Monday offered Khichdi to Mahayogi Guru Gorakhnath in Brahma Muhurta as per the special tradition of Nathpanth and wished for the welfare of the people. After CM Yogi, Khichdi was offered by Nepal Dynasty. Then Nath Yogis and saints offered Khichdi and offered prayers. With this the doors of the sanctum sanctorum of the temple were opened for the devotees. Lakhs of devotees have gathered at Gorakhnath temple to offer Khichdi to Mahayogi. On Makar Sankranti, CM Yogi Adityanath took orders by sitting on the ground and paying obeisance to Guru Gorakhnath as per the tradition of Nath Panth. Then after worshiping as per rituals, Khichdi was offered to Shrinath ji from Gorakshpeeth. On the holy festival of Makar Sankranti, lakhs of devotees have gathered in the temple amidst the harsh cold to offer Khichdi to Guru Gorakhnath.

Devotees have come from other states including UP, Bihar

Devotees from other states including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and neighboring country Nepal have started lining up to offer Khichdi to Baba Gorakhnath after CM Yogi offered Khichdi to Baba Gorakhnath to wish for happiness, prosperity and health. This sequence continues continuously. After worshiping the idols of all the Gods and Goddesses located in the temple premises, the devotees are also taking blessings by bowing their heads at the Samadhi of Brahmalin Mahant Baba Gambhirnath, Brahmalin Mahant Digvijnath and Brahmalin Mahant Avedyanath. The entire temple complex is echoing with the praise of Guru Gorakhnath. Complete arrangements have been made by the temple and district administration for the safety, comfort and convenience of the devotees. Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath himself is keeping an eye on all the arrangements.

During this, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, while giving hearty congratulations and best wishes to all the citizens on Makar Sankranti, said that to honor the faith on this festival, extensive arrangements have been made for security facilities and convenience in the entire state. CM Yogi said that the government is trying to ensure that devotees do not face any inconvenience anywhere. Adequate arrangements have been made everywhere in the entire state regarding this. All arrangements have been made for the convenience of lakhs of devotees who come to offer Khichdi in Gorakhnath temple. He said that a large number of devotees have been offering khichdi to Lord Shiva in the Gorakhnath temple since yesterday and today, on the main festival of Makar Sankranti, this number is seen in lakhs. There are long queues on the streets to offer the sacred Khichdi of faith to Guru Gorakhnath and people are disciplinedly taking part in the rituals of darshan, worship and offering Khichdi. Extensive arrangements have been made for these devotees by the administration as well as the temple management.
