Major action taken against drug dealers in Chatra, Jharkhand, two smugglers arrested with opium worth Rs 10 crore

Chatra, Deenbandhu/Taslim: Chatra Police of Jharkhand has taken major action against drug dealers. Opium worth ten crores has been recovered from the house of Pankaj Dangi of Mahuda village. Along with this, two smugglers have been arrested. During the raid, the police uncovered a mini factory of brown sugar. Chatra SP Vikas Kumar Pandey gave this information in a press conference on Monday in his office room at the Collectorate.

Two quintals of opium seized
The arrested smugglers include Pankaj Dangi, resident of Mahuda village of Itkhori police station area of ​​Chatra district and Dhirendra Dangi of Manjhauli Barabagi village of Rajpur police station area. Apart from 204.4 kg of opium, an iron machine for making brown sugar, a mobile, a gas cylinder, a gas stove, clothes, an electronic weighing machine, 100 pieces of white plastic, a jack, 25.400 kg of clay like substance were recovered from the smugglers. Was confiscated.

Both smugglers were sent to jail
Chatra SP said that secret information was received that brown sugar powder was being prepared by tearing opium in the house of Pankaj Dangi in Mahuda village. In the light of the information, a raid team was formed under the leadership of DSP Headquarters Rohit Kumar Rajwar. The team took immediate action and raided the house. During this period, various equipment for making opium and brown sugar from opium were seized. In this regard, a case of NDPS Act was registered under Itkhori police station case number 44/24 and both the arrested smugglers were sent to jail.
