Maharashtra: A member of Maratha organization went near Chhagan Bhujbal’s car and raised slogans.

A member of the Maratha organization on Monday entered a government guest house in Pune where Minister Chhagan Bhujbal was staying. He went near Bhujbal’s car there and raised slogans saying that he (Bhujbal) should not oppose the protest of Maratha community for reservation. Police said that the man was identified as Dhananjay Jadhav and he was chased away from there. Jadhav told reporters that if Bhujbal did not stop opposing the Maratha agitation demanding reservation, “we will make their movement in the state difficult.”

State Cabinet Minister Bhujbal had said that while giving reservation to Marathas, the existing reservation for Other Backward Classes (OBC) should not be cut. Bhujbal had criticized Maratha movement activist Manoj Jarange for some of his recent statements. Jadhav, a member of Swarajya Sangathan, approached Bhujbal’s car parked at Circuit House in Bund Garden area on Monday morning and said that it would not take much time for him to damage the car, but he would not do so.

Zone II Deputy Commissioner of Police S Patil told PTI that the man approached Bhujbal’s car at Circuit House. There was no one in the car and he went there and raised slogans. The Deputy Commissioner said that the police personnel present there chased him away.
