Mafia Ashraf Ahmed’s brother-in-law Saddam arrested from Delhi, reward of Rs 1 lakh, STF got the clue like this…

Bareilly: STF Bareilly Unit has succeeded in arresting Saddam, brother-in-law of Mafia Atiq Ahmed’s brother Ashraf, from Delhi. Saddam was absconding after the Umesh Pal murder case in Prayagraj. A reward of Rs 1 lakh was declared on him. Many teams were busy searching for him. Under the leadership of STF DSP Abdul Qadir, the team camped in Delhi and arrested Saddam. A case was registered against Saddam in Bithri Chainpur police station for arranging and facilitating an illegal meeting with Ashraf Ahmed in Bareilly jail.

STF reached Saddam at Bithri Chainpur police station in Bareilly on Thursday. A joint team of STF and police is interrogating Saddam. He will be presented in court and sent to jail. It is believed that many secrets of Ashraf and Atiq Ahmed can be revealed from Saddam. If Saddam was not found even after the non-bailable warrant was issued, preparations were being made to confiscate his property in Prayagraj. Teams from Lucknow and Prayagraj were also busy searching for him. Eventually STF caught him.

The conspiracy to murder Umesh Pal was hatched in Bareilly District Jail. Mafia Ashraf’s brother-in-law Saddam, who was imprisoned here, was living on rent in Bareilly for three years. He used to introduce influential people of Prayagraj, shooters and people from other places to meet Ashraf. Here, he had spread his network from officers to constables in the district jail. Both brother-in-law and brother-in-law used to make the jail administration dance at their finger tips.

The role of Saddam and his special henchman Lalla Gaddi, resident of Bareilly, in making the shooters who killed Umesh Pal meet Ashraf was also revealed. A case was registered against Saddam, Lalla Gaddi and his other henchmen in Bithri police station. The second case was registered against Saddam and his associates in Baradari police station.

SIT was formed under the leadership of CO III to investigate both the cases. Ashraf and Saddam’s henchmen were sent to jail. The jail guards also went to jail. Then a charge sheet was filed against nine people. After the assassination of Umesh Pal, Saddam went underground. It is being told that after the murder of Atiq and Ashraf in police custody in Prayagraj, he had fled to Dubai fearing an encounter.
