Madhya Pradesh Elections: More than 5.50 crore voters will decide the fate of 2533 candidates, voting tomorrow

Bhopal : Campaign work for Madhya Pradesh Assembly elections has come to a halt. Voting will be held for 230 seats on Friday 17 November. According to Madhya Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Anupam Rajan, in this election, more than 5 crore 60 lakh voters of Madhya Pradesh will decide the fate of 2,533 candidates. He said that voting will be held from 7 am to 3 pm at polling stations in many assembly constituencies of Balaghat, Mandla and Dindori districts. Whereas in the remaining assembly constituencies, voting will be held from 7 am to 6 pm. Mock poll will be conducted 90 minutes before the start of voting.

64,626 polling stations

Madhya Pradesh Chief Electoral Officer Anupam Rajan said that 64,626 polling stations have been set up in Madhya Pradesh, of which 64,523 are main polling stations and 103 are auxiliary polling stations. The number of critical polling stations in the state is 17,032. At the same time, the number of unsafe areas is 1,316. 4,028 people who created obstacles during this election have been identified. Preventive action has been ensured against everyone.

2536 Model Polling Station

Chief Electoral Officer Rajan said that 5,160 polling stations in the state will be operated entirely by women polling personnel. There is a team of women officers and employees at these polling stations. At the same time, in order to create confidence and respect among the disabled people, a total of 183 polling stations will be operated by the disabled people. 371 youth managed booths have been created for the first time, while 2,536 model polling stations have been created. 50 green booths have been made in Jabalpur district and 57 in Balaghat.

Smart polling center in Indore, no queue

At the same time, in Indore, the administration has made innovations and created a ‘smart’ polling centre. In this centre, voters will be able to cast their vote without standing in the queue and after voting, they will also be able to get a selfie clicked by showing their indelibly inked finger to a camera equipped with Artificial Intelligence (AI). This polling center has been built in Maa Kanakeshwari Devi Government College of Nanda Nagar in Assembly Constituency No. 2.
