Maruti Suzuki issued a statement
The country’s leading car company Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) has started exporting the five-door version of its sports utility vehicle (SUV) Jimny. The company gave this information in a statement on Tuesday.
Will be sold in many countries including Latin America, West Asia and Africa
According to the statement, this model will be exported to various regions including Latin America, West Asia and Africa. Maruti Suzuki had earlier started production of the three-door Jimny in November 2020 for export to regions like Latin America and Africa. The company had introduced the five-door Jimny in the domestic market in June this year.

MSI Managing Director (MD) and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Hisashi Takeuchi said, “The addition of the India-made five-door Jimny to our export portfolio will definitely generate excitement among foreign customers.”

He said that in line with the ‘Make in India’ initiative of the Government of India, our company is now exporting a wide range of 17 vehicles across various segments. We are committed in our efforts to maintain our leading role in exports of Indian made passenger vehicles.
Maruti exported 2.50 lakh vehicles last year
MSI was the top exporter in the passenger vehicle segment in the last financial year. It exported 2,55,439 passenger vehicles in the last financial year, which is eight percent more than the figure of 2,35,670 units for the financial year 2021-22.
