A student of the fifth semester of Bachelor in Fine Arts in Tilak Hostel of Lucknow University committed suicide on Thursday evening. Before committing suicide, the student switched on the mobile camera and left it to record video. After this, he committed suicide by hanging himself with the help of a fan. The incident came to light when two of the girl’s friends had gone to Hazratganj for an outing. During this time, the student’s boyfriend called her number and informed her. When one of her friends present in the hostel went to call her. When he knocked the door there was no answer. After this, he peeped through the window and saw that the body of the student was hanging from the noose. After this she started screaming. Hearing the noise, other girls of the hostel came. Then the police was informed. After this the police reached the spot. The dead body of the student was removed from the noose by breaking the door. According to the college administration, the semester examinations of Prayagraj resident student Anshika Gupta had ended today. After which she went to visit Gomti Nagar. After returning from Gomti Nagar, Anshika had dinner and then was in her room. During this time, her two roommates had gone to visit Hazratganj.
There was resentment between Anshika and Hrithik
Both the friends of the student informed the university administration that a call was received on their number from a boy named Hrithik, who informed them about Anshika’s suicide. Hrithik told Anshika’s friends that Anshika had committed suicide over the call. After this the friends were shocked. He immediately called the hostel management and then the police was informed. Anshika’s friends told the hostel management about Hrithik that Hrithik is a resident of Varanasi. It was while talking to Hrithik that Anshika came to know about their relationship. The student’s friend has also told that there was resentment between Hrithik and Anshika for the last few days. According to the information, Hrithik is not a student of Lucknow University. In this case, the SHO of Hazratganj police station says that the girl had committed suicide by locking the room and hanging herself on the fan from inside. Two of the girl’s friends had gone out during the incident. He said that the body of the deceased has been sent for post-mortem and the family members have been informed. The family is coming from Prayagraj.
