Lucknow University: Process of admission in PhD begins in the university, departments will have to give details of seats.

Lucknow University has started preparations for admission to the PhD course for the session 2023-24. For this, all the heads of departments will have to get the details of full-time and part-time PhD seats recommended by the Departmental Research Committee (DRC), complete the proceedings under the Research Ordinance by December 15 and make them available in the office of the Admission Coordinator. Registrar Dr. Vinod Kumar Singh has issued its letter. All departments should be informed about the subject and teacher name, designation, total number of full-time seats as per rules, number of full-time researchers doing research, number of full-time seats advertised in the session 2022-23, full-time seats to be advertised in the session 2023-24. Number has to be given. After the details are received, the application process for admission will start after deciding the number of seats department and subject wise.

ODOP related courses will be taught in the university

Courses related to One District One Product (ODOP) will be started in Lucknow University. This will promote skill development of students. Now students in the university will be taught about products related to ODOP. Under this, students will now also learn about fusion work (work done by combining chicken work and painting). Registrar Dr. Vinod Kumar Singh said that there is a plan to include ODOP related products as vocational courses from session 2024-25. This course will be of four credits and students will also be given a certificate. The university administration has made preparations to start ODOP related courses in undergraduate level courses.

The Principal Secretary has given instructions in the meeting of Registrars of State Universities. According to the university administration, instructions have been received from the Principal Secretary to include ODOP in the course. It will be taught in the second and fourth semester of graduation, which is being added as a vocational course. In preparing its syllabus, cooperation will be taken from the permanent teachers of the affiliated districts so that nothing related to the product is left out in the course. This will include chikankari, zari-zardozi of Lucknow, wood art of Rae Bareli, carpets of Sitapur, handloom of Hardoi and tribal crafts and jaggery products of Lakhimpur Kheri. According to LU administration, students will be able to choose courses related to the products of the five affiliated districts only.
