Lucknow University: Now PhD will be paperless, a foreign examiner will also be included

Lucknow : Vice Chancellor of Lucknow University Prof. Alok Kumar Rai has started various research promotion schemes to promote quality research. In this sequence, now the university is preparing to implement the new PhD ordinance. Its objective is to promote research, excellence as well as meet global standards. This ordinance will be an attempt to revolutionize the PhD submission and evaluation process. With the completion of this research process in six months, it will be paperless.

Now foreign examiner will evaluate PhD thesis

The salient feature of this Ordinance is to involve at least one foreign examiner in addition to one examiner and research supervisor from India for evaluating PhD thesis. This step will ensure that the research of PhD students adheres to global standards of excellence and will also make the research done in the university available on the world stage. To expedite the thesis evaluation process, the University will develop a dedicated research portal.

It will be able to complete the entire process from thesis submission to evaluation and oral examination on the online platform within a maximum period of six months. By adopting a paperless approach, the new ordinance will not only save the time and energy of the research scholars, but also increase the transparency in the evaluation process.

Research students will get relief from long process

Previously, students were required to submit multiple copies of their thesis, which were sent to examiners through traditional postal services. Evaluation reports are also sent through this medium only, which is a long process. This may take up to one year. The implementation of the new ordinance will streamline the entire process. This will eliminate unnecessary delays and paperwork.

Vice Chancellor of the University Prof. Alok Kumar Rai said that we are proud to adopt innovation and adopt digital system in thesis evaluation. By leveraging technology and incorporating international expertise, we aim to further strengthen our position as a leading research institute. The new PhD Ordinance is an important step in our mission to promote excellence in research.
