Loksabha Election 2024 : Bhojpuri superstar Pawan Singh had recently announced that he will contest the Lok Sabha elections from Karakat. After this announcement, questions were being raised whether he would contest the elections as an independent candidate or on the symbol of any political party. He also met BSP President Mayawati. After which there was talk that he could be the BSP candidate in Karakat and there was also talk in political circles about him joining RJD. But Pawan Singh himself has now put an end to all speculations. Pawan Singh posted on social media X that he will contest elections from Karakat as an independent candidate.

BJP had given ticket to Pawan Singh from Asansol.
BJP had declared Pawan Singh as its candidate from Asansol Lok Sabha seat of West Bengal. But the very next day Pawan Singh returned the ticket and refused to contest the Lok Sabha elections from Asansol. After which BJP has made SS Ahluwalia its candidate from Asansol.

On April 10, Pawan Singh had posted a post on social media. In which he announced that he will contest elections from Karakat seat. In this post he did not say whether he would contest the elections on the symbol of any political party or as an independent candidate. After which a lot of speculations started.

Lok Sabha elections in Karakat have become quite interesting. Upendra Kushwaha is contesting the elections here as an NDA candidate. Whereas, Rajaram Singh Kushwaha of CPI (ML) is in the fray from the Grand Alliance. Now Bhojpuri star Pawan Singh’s announcement of contesting the elections as an independent candidate has made the contest triangular.
