Lok Sabha Elections: Patna. There is also a candidate in the fray in the Lok Sabha elections who neither files nomination nor campaigns, but his support base has been increasing since the last two elections. Yes, we are talking about NOTA. The number of such voters is increasing in Bihar who do not like any candidate. It is clear from the votes cast in the last elections that NOTA’s support base is continuously increasing. In Bihar, up to five percent of the total votes cast were in favor of NOTA. If we look at the data, one more thing is visible that where the number of candidates was more, NOTA got less votes, but where the number of candidates was less, NOTA got more votes. NOTA’s name is mentioned in the list of candidates only. In the last two elections, NOTA got an average of one to one and a half percent of the votes.

Highest percentage in Bihar

This figure is also a matter of concern for the Election Commission. The indifference among the voters of Bihar towards voting for political parties and candidates is becoming a big challenge. In the Lok Sabha elections 2019, NOTA button was used the most by the voters of Bihar compared to all the states of the country. Election Commission figures are confirming this. In total 40 seats of Bihar, two percent of total votes were cast in favor of NOTA. The voters of any state had not voted so much in favor of NOTA. In such a situation, this tendency of voters can become a big challenge for political parties in the coming days.
