Lok Sabha elections: CPI candidate from Begusarai and RJD candidate from Banka.

Seat sharing in the grand alliance for the Lok Sabha elections in Bihar has not been formally announced yet. But the parties have started giving symbols to the candidates and announcing the names. Communist Party of India (CPI) has announced Awadhesh Kumar Rai as its candidate from Begusarai Lok Sabha seat. Awadhesh has been MLA thrice. RJD has also given its old leader Jai Prakash Narayan the symbol to contest elections from Banka. Thus far, RJD has given tickets to a total of seven candidates to contest the Lok Sabha elections.

Earlier, RJD had given symbols to its candidates on four seats of the first phase on Thursday itself. RJD has given symbols to former minister Kumar Sarvjeet from Gaya reserved seat, Archana Ravidas from Jamui reserved seat, Shravan Kumar from Nawada and Abhay Kushwaha from Aurangabad. All these candidates are busy preparing to file nominations.

Awadhesh Rai will be CPI candidate from Begusarai.

CPI National General Secretary D Raja, while announcing the ticket to Awadhesh Kumar Rai in Patna on Friday, said that the Bihar State Executive has taken this decision unanimously. The party has got Begusarai seat in the grand alliance and positive talks are going on on other seats. D Raja also attacked BJP during this period. He said that the first priority of CPI in the Lok Sabha elections is to remove BJP from power and strengthen the strength of CPI in Parliament. We have given the slogan, remove BJP, save the country – save democracy-constitution, save the country. The grand alliance is united to defeat the BJP alliance on all 40 seats of Bihar.

Giriraj Singh is the current MP from Begusarai.

Let us tell you that the fourth phase of voting for Begusarai Lok Sabha seat will be held on May 13. The nomination process for this will start from April 18. At present this seat is in the possession of BJP. Giriraj Singh went to Parliament after winning the last election from here, he is also a Union Minister. This time too, in the seat distribution in NDA, this seat is with BJP only. There are speculations that from here NDA can again field Giriraj Singh.

However, Rajya Sabha MP Prof. Rakesh Sinha is also keeping a close watch on this seat and is trying hard to get the ticket. Rakesh and Sinha’s activism is also being seen in different areas of Begusarai for many days. At present BJP has not announced the name of any candidate in Bihar.
