Two Yadav stalwarts were face to face in the Yadav dominated area.

When Lalu Yadav entered the election field to defeat Sharad Yadav

On the other hand, Lalu Prasad won the elections for the first time from Madhepura in 1998. In the 1998 elections, Lalu Prasad snatched the Madhepura seat from Sharad Yadav, the two-time winner. Elections were held again after a year. This time too, Lalu Prasad had entered the election field with full force to defeat Sharad Yadav. Allegations of election irregularities and then…

It is said that Sharad Yadav had become dejected and disappointed after the elections. He had accepted that it was impossible for him to win this time. After voting, Sharad Yadav accused Lalu Prasad of huge irregularities in the elections. Sharad Yadav sat on a dharna outside the counting venue demanding cancellation of the elections. Not only this, he also made the party leaders and workers sit on strike in front of the Election Commission offices in Patna and Delhi. The news of Sharad Yadav sitting on strike spread across the country.

Lalu Yadav lost the election
