Lok Sabha Elections 2024: Bokaro-Election Commission of India Secretary Santosh Kumar reached Bokaro on Thursday. Reviewed the work done through Sweep Cell and further plans to increase the voting percentage in the Lok Sabha elections 2024. In this context, a meeting was held in the Collectorate auditorium. It was presided over by Secretary Santosh Kumar. Santosh Kumar said that better work is being done for voter awareness, it has to be continued further. He asked for wide publicity of Assured Minimum Facilities (AMF) at polling stations, so that more and more people turn out on the polling day. He said that voters should be aware of what arrangements have been made by the Commission at the polling station. Apart from this, he talked about making the officials of the Resident Welfare Association nodal and making them active in the voter awareness programme. Also directed to continue the voter awareness program in tribal areas also.

1755 booth awareness group has been formed
District Election Officer cum Deputy Commissioner Vijaya Jadhav gave brief information about the work and plans done so far to increase the voting percentage in the district. DEO Mrs. Jadhav said: 1755 booth awareness groups have been formed in the district. By continuously identifying the pockets where the voting percentage is not satisfactory, awareness programs are being conducted. Voter awareness programs are being organized among children studying in schools, colleges, skill training centers etc. Recently, a voter awareness program was also organized in the Basant Mahotsav organized by BSL along with CCL in Bermo-Phusro. Voter pledge was given to everyone. A grand event of Election Carnival is also to be organized on 18th April. In which people of all classes will gather.

SVEEP’s nodal officer cum DCLR Prabhash Dutta informed the Secretary of the Election Commission of India through a power point presentation about the programs and activities conducted for voter awareness. Mr. Dutta said: Till now 1051 programs and activities have been organized. In which voter awareness among urban voters through various activities, meeting among Resident Welfare Association, voter awareness candle march, e-rickshaw (Toto) rally, awareness meeting, programs in schools, rally, rangoli-mehndi-painting competition, voter awareness This includes pledge, night chaupal, installation of selfie stands, signature stands etc. at various malls, petrol pumps, government offices and institutions, organizing voter awareness activities in PVGT dominated areas. He gave information about the proposed program step by step till before the voting day. Information about the activities taking place was given by showing various audio-visual clips. The themes mentioned for the polling booth were technology, sustainability, sports, cultural diversity, historical heritage and women empowerment etc. The vote of thanks was given by Saurav Bhuvaniya, the senior nodal officer of SVEEP.
