Lok Sabha Elections-2024: These 17 candidates including Vivek Thakur and Shravan Kushwaha filed their nominations.

The election process has been going on since the sound of Lok Sabha elections-2024. After the notification was issued on March 20, there was a wait for nomination. After Holika Dahan, on March 28, a crowd of supporters and candidates started appearing near the Collectorate premises since morning for filing nominations. A total of 17 candidates filed nomination forms on the last day of nomination. Strict security arrangements were made by the police administration. Meanwhile, people reached the candidate collectorate premises for nomination.

District Election Officer cum DM Ashutosh Kumar Verma filed nomination forms. Prominent names who filed nominations included BJP candidate Vivek Thakur from NDA and RJD candidate Shravan Kushwaha from Grand Alliance. Apart from this, state general secretary Vinod Yadav, who had rebelled against RJD, and Bhojpuri singer Gunjan Singh arrived with huge supporters to file nomination. Apart from Union Minister Giriraj Singh, Warsaliganj MLA Aruna Devi, former MLA Anil Singh, BJP District President Anil Mehta, many prominent people associated with the party were present during the nomination.

During the nomination of RJD candidate Shravan Kushwaha, party’s national spokesperson Shakti Singh Yadav, former minister Shamim Mansoori, state spokesperson Sarika Paswan, Hisua MLA Neetu Singh, state leader Gautam Kapoor Chandravanshi, District President Uday Yadav etc. were present. During the nomination of rebel RJD leader Vinod Yadav, RJD MLA Prakash Veer, Independent Legislative Councilor Ashok Yadav, District Councilor President Pushpa Devi and hundreds of supporters were present. Gunjan Singh filed nomination as an independent candidate. Many others including Siddharth Kumar were present on the occasion.

Extensive security arrangements were seen during the nomination. No other person was allowed entry within a radius of 200 meters of the Collectorate gate. However, candidates were taking a lot of time during nomination. Many candidates were also seen running to correct their documents.

Information given about the rules:
After nomination, candidates were provided information related to code of conduct and documents to keep track of income and expenditure. The election officer said that no candidate should violate the code of conduct. Otherwise action will be taken as per the rules of the Commission.

The entire city remained chaotic due to the huge crowd during nomination. Convoys of vehicles were seen on all the roads where people’s movement was affected due to the vehicles parked there.
